Let's kill the SOCIALIST fire and police departments!

"Better DEAD than fire truck RED."

Had to share both this website and facebook group............ has a hilarious satire on publi.... er I mean socialist agencies like 'RED' painted firetrucks run by SOCIALIST firedepartments.

Our aim is that by 2011, all fire services will be provided and funded through private fire companies, including but not limited to: Blackwater (XE), Halliburton, Monsanto, Lockheed, and China.

Here's an awesome facebook group too entitled:

1 Million Strong Against our SOCIALIST Fire Departments

My favorite line: "Better DEAD than fire truck RED."

A Day in the Life of Joe Republican

Joe gets up at 6am and fills his coffee pot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards.

With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised.

All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance -- now Joe gets it too.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry. In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and whether there were any health hazards.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is cleaner because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air.

He walks to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants progressive liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union.

If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a workers compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It's noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay his bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FDIC because some godless liberal heathens wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression, and from felons such as George Bush's brother Neil, who caused the collapse of the Savings and Loans after a $250,000,000 theft through unsecured loans to cronies.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some academic elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime.

Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards.

He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some big-government whacko liberal pinko socialist stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification.

He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to.

Joe gets back in his car for the ride home and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host -- an illegal drug user, adulterer and fascist -- keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention, however, that his beloved Republicans have bitterly fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.

Joe agrees: 'We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have.'

A litany of healthcare insanity

The best/insane stories I've encountered so far.

The opposing forces lined up like screaming armies on either side of the street, about 1,000 people a side. Diane Campbell of Kingston, N.H., held a sign with Mr. Obama's face superimposed on a Nazi storm trooper, a sign, she said, that was made by her chronically ill mother.

Her mother's hereditary autoimmune disease is treated with expensive transfusions of gamma globulin, paid for by Medicare. Her sister, Louise, was born with no arms and one leg, and is also covered by Medicare
, the government-run, health-insurance program for the elderly and disabled.

"Adolf Hitler was for exterminating the weak, not just the Jews and stuff, and socialism -- that's what's going to happen."

In an editorial on July 31, Investor's Business Daily warned of end-of-life counseling in health care reform by saying people like Stephen Hawking "wouldn't have a chance" in the such a system.

People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn't have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless.
In fact, Professor Hawking lives in England, where he has been treated by their National Health Service. And by his own account, it saved his life.

"I wouldn't be here today if it were not for the NHS," he told The Guardian. "I have received a large amount of high-quality treatment without which I would not have survived."

Grassley Endorses "Death Panel" Rumor: "You Have Every Right To Fear"

Gingrich Supported So-Called "Death Panels" A Few Months Ago

More than 20 percent of all Medicare spending occurs in the last two months of life. Gundersen Lutheran Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin has developed a successful end-of-life, best practice that combines: 1) community-wide advance care planning, where 90 percent of patients have advance directives; 2) hospice and palliative care; and 3) coordination of services through an electronic medical record. The Gundersen approach empowers patients and families to control and direct their care. The Dartmouth Health Atlas has documented that Gundersen delivers care at a 30 percent lower rate than the national average ($18,359 versus $25,860). If Gundersen’s approach was used to care for the approximately 4.5 million Medicare beneficiaries who die every year, Medicare could save more than $33 billion a year.

That was Newt Gingrich just a few months ago praising the “Advance Directives” practiced by a hospital in Wisconsin. Advance Directives are another word for the end-of-life consultations that the teabggers have been flipping out over of late. Gingrich loved them a few months ago.

Don't forget the now falling star of the Republican party (her approval rating is dropping quickly '39% favorable') Sarah Palin with her comment:
Palin: Obama's "Death Panel" Could Kill My Down Syndrome Baby

The irony on this one? Alaskan Senator Lisa Murkowski (R) has come out swinging against Palin's comments.

"It does us no good to incite fear in people by saying that there's these end-of-life provisions, these death panels," Murkowski, a Republican, said. "Quite honestly, I'm so offended at that terminology because it absolutely isn't (in the bill). There is no reason to gin up fear in the American public by saying things that are not included in the bill."

And then you have Glen Beck crying on the air for no apparent reason over the Nazis, talking about how his daughter was born with cerebral palsy, this of course has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the allegations about Obama's death camps, you buy that?

Watch Clair McCaskill illuminate the 'irony' of the people who're opposed to reform, THESE PEOPLE ARE ON MEDICAID!!! A GOV'T PROGRAM!!!

Same McCaskill townhall, some wingnut rips up a photo of Rosa Parks

Why Americans hate single-payer insurance
Because they don’t know they have it.

At a recent town-hall meeting in suburban Simpsonville, a man stood up and told Rep. Robert Inglis (R-S.C.) to “keep your government hands off my Medicare.”

“I had to politely explain that, ‘Actually, sir, your health care is being provided by the government,’ ” Inglis recalled. “But he wasn’t having any of it.”

People ask yourselves, "what in the hell is going on with these protesters?!"

I'd like to illustrate the danger in electing overtly pro-business Republican and Democrats. At this point, the conservative Democrats are causing us as much trouble with healthcare reform as the Republicans are.

Canada obtained 'Universal Healthcare' coverage in Canada in 1962. Here's a bit of background:

[Kiefer Sutherland's grandfather was] Thomas Clement "Tommy" Douglas, PC, CC, SOM (20 October 1904 – 24 February 1986) was a Scottish-born Baptist minister who became a prominent Canadian social democratic politician. As leader of the Saskatchewan Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) from 1942 and the seventh Premier of Saskatchewan from 1944 to 1961....

[Tommy] Douglas's number one concern was the creation of Medicare. In the summer of 1962, Saskatchewan became the centre of a hard-fought struggle between the provincial government, the North American medical establishment, and the province's physicians, who brought things to a halt with the 1962 Saskatchewan Doctors' Strike. The doctors believed their best interests were not being met and feared a significant loss of income as well as government interference in medical care decisions even though Douglas agreed that his government would pay the going rate for service that doctors charged. The medical establishment claimed that Douglas would import foreign doctors to make his plan work and used racist images to try to scare the public.[citation needed] Their defenders have also argued that private or government medical insurance plans covered 60 to 63 percent of the Saskatchewan population before Medicare legislation was introduced.
An often forgotten political fact is that though Douglas is widely hailed as the father of Medicare, he had retired from his position as Saskatchewan's premier, turned over this job in 1961 to Woodrow Lloyd and took the leadership of the federal New Democratic Party.

The Saskatchewan program was finally launched by his successor, Woodrow Lloyd, in 1962. The success of the province's public health care program was not lost on the federal government. Another Saskatchewan politician, newly elected Prime Minister John Diefenbaker, decreed in 1958 that any province seeking to introduce a hospital plan would receive 50 cents on the dollar from the federal government. In 1962, Diefenbaker appointed Justice Emmett Hall—also of Saskatchewan, a noted jurist and Supreme Court Justice—to Chair a Royal Commission on the national health system - the Royal Commission on Health Services. In 1964, Justice Hall recommended the nationwide adoption of Saskatchewan's model of public health insurance. In 1966, the Liberal minority government of Lester B. Pearson created such a program, with the federal government paying 50% of the costs and the provinces the other half.

Douglas had a great speech entitled 'Mouseland', which illustrated the anti-productive results of electing overtly pro-business, free market policians.

And here's a great snopes article debunking the myths about the Canadian healthcare system.

The audience view of McCaskill's townhall upset 08/11/09, some wingnut rips up a photo of Rosa Parks

Why would anyone want to rip up a picture of a civil rights icon? Ask yourself honestly what these people stand for and against.

Proof the government CAN'T do anything right.

(Grabbed this from a buddies facebook note)

This morning I was awoken by my alarm clock powered by electricity generated by the public power monopoly regulated by the US Department of Energy. I then took a shower in the clean water provided by the municipal water utility. After that, I turned on the FCC-regulated channels to see what the National Weather Service of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration determined the weather was going to be like using satellites designed, built, and launched by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. I watched this while eating my breakfast of US Department of Agriculture-inspected food and taking the drugs which have been determined as safe by the Food and Drug Administration.

At the appropriate time as regulated by the US Congress and kept accurate by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the US Naval Observatory, I get into my National Highway Traffic Safety Administration-approved automobile and set out to work on the roads built by the local, state, and federal departments of transportation, possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level determined by the Environmental Protection Agency, using legal tender issued by the Federal Reserve Bank. On the way out the door I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the US Postal Service and drop the kids off at the public school.

After work, I drive my NHTSA car back home on the DOT roads, to a house which has not burned down in my absence because of the state and local building codes and fire marshal's inspection, and which has not been plundered of all its valuables thanks to the local police department.

I then log on to the Internet which was developed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Administration and post on and Fox News forums to express my rage at the possibility of a public health care plan, because the government can't do anything right.

Why would anyone be opposed to healthcare reform? Follow the money.......

Rachel Maddow goes over the big money in our broken healthcare system.

Watch Clair McCaskill illuminate the 'irony' of the people who're opposed to reform.

Arlen Specter give an awesome rebuttal to this woman who seems to think Obama is advocating euthanasia.

More McCaskill footage, I love how she dispels a Gov't takeover of our healthcare system.

Stand strong Democrats, WE can get healthcare reform done!

First of all, if you have a single brain cell you know that the American healthcare system HAS to be reformed. If you're conservative or liberal you should be appalled at the inefficiency of the current American healthcare system. But guess what, the healthcare providers aren't.

Yes that's right, the mixture of government funding and private enterprise has created a monster that is doing it's best to strangle reform and stifle debate. The GOP, the party of 'small Govt' has opened a buffet of tax money for the insurance companies to feed on (see Medicare part D). In creating a a system which is funded by tax payers and run by private corporations our elected officials have created and encouraged a healthcare cartel which has no competition and has complete control of the industry.

Hear that fiscal conservatives and free market worshippers? You should be outraged at this.

But of course private run healthcare companies are going to be worse than public options, think about it. The employees of these companies are rewarded for obtaining as much money as possible while approving as little treatment as possible. It's in the numbers, the more money these companies make the more money they take to their shareholders on Wallstreet. That's why when one of your relatives goes for a life threatening illness the healthcare industry fights them nail and tooth trying to figure out any possible way to deny them a procedure.

This isn't rocket science, actually the way that this system works it's more like a study in anthropology on a caste system! The more well off you are, the more likely you'll have a decent insurance plan that will actually pay for a proceedure that will save your life.

Doesn't this seem insane? Do you think this is fair?

Are you seeing a pattern by the way? All of your life you've no doubt heard over and over again how 'inefficient' government is, how terrible it is and how we need to have as little of it as we can.

Yet the Bush administration has illuminated what a terrible job private industry has done, from the shabby subcontracting construction work in Iraq which led to our service members being electrocuted while showering, to Blackwater's flagrant abuses upon the Iraqi people, to the no bid contracts that Dick Cheney's Halliburton obtained while our troops begged for better body armor and armored vehicles.

Think about that!

The next time you hear someone complain about the incompetence of the governement and the beauty of the unregulated free-market why don't you remind them of Enron, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, and AIG. Enron imploded on itself with the deregulation of the energy sector and the United States government had to partially nationalize and save the investment and insurance banking sector of the United States.

But wait.... I thought the freemarket could run itself? I thought that the natural freemarket laws would prevent this from happening!

The truth? The VA and Medicare are amongst the world's most efficient and effective programs in the entire world. And they're government programs! Yet you won't hear this from from Faux News and as of lately CNN. The traditional news media is falling flat on it's face in covering healthcare from an honest point of view.

We can have effective and efficient government if we have competent people to run the programs, we need to quit electing people who campaign on the idea that government doesn't work.

What are we talking about instead? Obama's birth certificate, something the McCain campaign dismissed as a rumor to nowhere long ago.
